Giant Inflatable Smurfs Promote Movie

Sony Pictures Entertainment , in conjunction with Barking Dogs Promotions, again asked CMEANN Productions to help them promote one of their tentpoles for 2011.

The process began with choosing a design.  While the desire was for two looks, budget dictated only one. 

Or did it ?  CMEANN came up with a solution.  The 40' tall Smurf's head could detach, and re-attach itself to an extra  pair of hands.  That way Clumsy Smurf could pose over any rooftop, appearing to peek down at viewers below.    The hands and head are attached to a series of bases that can project them over parapets ranging from 2' to 6' tall.

That resolved, eight units were produced and shipped throughout the United States, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Mexico, and Australia for Global SMURF DAY on June 25, 2011.

Various other appearances ensued, as the movie began it's international roll-out on July 29, 2011.

Both The Smurfs Movie, and the giant inflatable Clumsies, proved to be blockbusters !
