ROBOTS INVADE HOLLYWOOD
FILM AT ELEVEN Actually the film, Paramount's "Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow", premiered at the Mann's Chinese in Hollywood at 7:30 p.m. on September 14, 2004. And yes, giant 75' Robots, replicated after those featured in the film, were there to greet the flick's stars and other celebrities in attendance. The inflatable Robots were produced especially for the movie premiere, but originally debuted at the Comicon Convention in San Diego in July 2004. Three units, at 1700 lbs. each, were flanking the entrance to the red carpet along Hollywood Boulevard. The stars of the picture, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Angelina Jolie, were surprised to see the giants as their limos pulled up, remarking how remarkable they were! The Robots were also erected later that weekend at the Ontario Mills Mall in Ontario, and the Bridge Theater in Century City, for the movies release. In addition to designing and producing the inflatables, CMEANN Productions also handled all installations.

While the film was being shown inside the theater, one unit was moved to a parking lot next to Hollywood High, where the afterparty was held.

A fourth unit was shipped to New York City, where it stood in Times Square for a Good Morning America interview with Gwyneth Paltrow and Diane Sawyer the morning of September 16, 2004.
